Background experience
Marco is a qualified civil engineer with core experience on major projects in Hong Kong where he worked on major civil and structural engineering projects, ranging from sewage treatment plants, residential projects and high-rise commercial buildings, in the capacity of both Planning Engineer and Site Engineer.
Marco has valuable experience in all stages of the construction process, namely:
- Feasibility studies, planning and scheduling of projects to ensure their efficient execution and delivery.
- Tendering of construction contracts: Marco has been centrally involved in the preparation of pre-construction master programmes and method statements to maximise time and cost efficiency of projects, including meticulously preparing supporting narratives.
- Project execution: Site engineer responsible for drawing coordination and site supervision on high-rise (25 and 35-storey) building projects. This involved using Primavera P6 planning software to maintain up-to-date monthly project schedules to ensure effective site planning and management.
- Assessment of delay and extension of time entitlement: Marco has been engaged in the analysis, preparation and evidencing of claims for extensions of time on behalf of contractors. This involved detailed and thorough investigation and evidencing of the nature of delay events and their practical impact on the critical path of the Works.
Marco’s role and delay analysis experience
Since joining TQEF in June 2023, Marco has provided robust and thorough supporting analysis to the appointed experts on a range of project types and disputes, including:
- Residential and commercial building façade disputes
- Sewage pipeline (North Macedonia)
- New build and refurbishment hotel projects (UK and Cyprus)
- New university project (Northern Ireland)
- Specialist hospital project (UK)
